FURNITURE - Heat-Sensitive Furniture

Remember those heat-sensitive mugs that we probably all got one Christmas, many years ago. Well these pictures show what happens when you apply that principle to furniture.

This striking furniture is handmade from solid European oak and coated with a black thermochromic finish which is what gives the heat response. When touched, sat on or with hot food and drinks placed on top the coating goes clear to reveal the wood beneath it. It's hard-wearing too so is fine for everyday use.

The table and benches are available from Jay Watson design and prices start at £450 for a single bench. If you can't afford the hefty price tag, perhaps you'll just have to settle for the mugs after all.
