SHOPPING - Ikea's Autumn/Winter Collection

IKEA chose a really fun and interesting way to showcase their new autumn/winter collection. I was lucky enough to join press and bloggers in IKEA's floating night market on Regent's Canal which was definitely an experience. Cocktail in hand, myself and a friend stepped tentatively into our boat and embarked upon our tour of the other static boats, each of which was filled with products from IKEA. Each boat had been themed by colour and the reasoning behind this market-style event was to show off the fabulous fabrics that IKEA has to offer. We saw plenty of those as we entered the marquee area too, with monochrome fabrics decorating the space to stunning effect.

Creative Director & Interior Design Manager at IKEA says "With autumn approaching, it is time to adapt to the seasonal changes and our new collection demonstrates how easy it is to use textiles to make big changes to your home, without spending a fortune. We hope our new collection not only surprises people but inspires them to add a splash of colour to their own homes".

Getting my new IKEA catalogue is something I look forward to, just like I look forward to visiting stores. I recently moved house and my boyfriend and I have given ourselves a TV room so top of  our shopping list was a great sofa. We ended up getting a great deal at IKEA as the covers we opted for were a discontinued line. We're now looking at new flats again and I know the first place we'll go to kit our our new pad!
