DESIGN - GILES Washing Machine for LG

LG are official Garment Care Supplier to London Fashion Week so I wasn't surprised when I heard that they had collaborated with a big-name designer on a special project. The well-known brand has partnered with British fashion designer Giles Deacon to launch a limited edition washing machine.

The bespoke LG 6 Motion washing machine stands out from the crowd with its striking Giles Deacon print and will be exclusively available from selected John Lewis stores priced at £1199. They also previously worked with Giles for a limited edition range of 3D glasses.

Giles Deacon comments says that: "Working with LG has given me a chance to transfer my designs into the home, working with the best in technology" while Dawn Stockell, LG Marketing Communications Manager adds: "Our unique 6 Motion Technology allows people to care for their most delicate fabrics at home, even the luxury couture garments we see on the catwalks. The GILES for LG washing machine has just made it even cooler!”

But what do you think? Are you brave enough to make such a statement with your kitchen appliances? I'm thinking something like this would work well in a commercial setting rather than a residential property. As fabulous as the print is, I don't think I'll be switching my white goods just yet.

LG’s Steam Team will be getting busy in preparation for London Fashion Week which starts this week where they ensure that all clothes look fresh, sleek and sharp for the runway. If only I had an LG Steam Team to do the same for my wardrobe... I hate ironing! See more from behind-the-scenes in the video below.
