CRAFT - Homemade London Craft Design Salon

West End's first dedicated venue blends fashion, design and crafts to create a unique customer experience. Homemade London is a brand new salon offering evening and weekend workshops and short-courses in everything from bag-making and lingerie to signature scent creation, upholstery and chandelier making. It also offers sewing-machine hire by the hour, workshop space, organises private parties and hosts fashion and interior design seminars. It's just what London needs.

The salon is located at 21 Seymour Place, a pretty street surrounded by restaurants and boutiques in the Portman Village area between Marble Arch and Marylebone.

Founder Nicola Barron says: "The essence of Homemade London is about beautiful but simple and achievable designs, unique to the salon and made with the highest-quality materials. It will be a celebration of design as much as craft. A really important part of the process has been finding the right designers to run the classes - people who combine creative genius with a passion to share their skills and ideas. I've worked with them to create the right kind of workspace and shape the courses themselves.”

Classes are small, to ensure that customers get the personal tuition they need to create objects of desire, beautifully packaged to take home. The workshops are social experiences; customers can enjoy a glass of wine and a light supper or an afternoon tea as they work.

Example workshops at Homemade London include:
  • Lingerie workshops by Tactile Wonderland
  • Chandeliers by Emerald Faerie (whose 8 foot tall  ‘Cinderella’s Revenge’ currently takes pride of place in Liberty’s shoe department)
  • Create your Own Signature Scent by Perfume Mistress
  • Vintage clothes restyling by Round London
If you book during September you can benefit from special introductory rates so get over there quick.
