DIET - Nosh Detox Diary, Day 2

Read all about my 6 day diet plan using Nosh Detox each day... (more info here).

Eating:

Breakfast this morning was a granola shake. It had a slightly nutty flavour and was thick and filling. I drank some but didn't finish it this morning as I was out interviewing and was in a rush. This also stopped me from drinking quite as much water as I usually would.

About 11am I tried to drink my superfood shot while walking through London back to the office. Not ideal, as I'm sure I'm meant to sit and savour each sip. On today's schedule that just wasn't happening unfortunately.

Up to lunchtime I tried to make up some of the water that I had missed during the morning and then it was soup O'clock. Today I had Broccoli soup which was really yummy. I'd have it again, it had just the right amount of seasoning and felt much thicker and more satisfying than the carrot and ginger one I tried yesterday.

My afternoon snack of fruit juice went out the window as I was holed up in a couple of meetings and just didn't get the time.

For dinner I enjoyed lemon cod and vegetables. I really wished the portion had been slightly bigger to really satisfy me, but seeing as I'm trying to lose a few pounds I figured it wouldn't do me any harm.

Cheating:

After my dinner I was naughty and had a lemon ice lolly. Just enough to make me feel like I'd had a treat. It's hard to change your habits when you're so used to using food to make you feel good, rather than to fulfill your nutritional needs. Oh and does sugar-free gum count as a cheat... yeah I suppose it does.

Today's tea:

Olive tea, much better than yesterday's, this tea was drinkable and pleasant enough.

Today's scrub:

Lemon and ginger salt salts, which I thought were a fab idea. It's something you could recreate at home too. In fact, I might get some bath salts and add in my own natural ingredients in future.

Overall mood:

Today would have been fine if I was sat at my desk all day. The problem was I was dashing around and I don't think I really had enough calories to keep my energy levels up. It's definitely something to keep in mind when planning your detox. Saying that, I felt great all morning, it was in the afternoon when things started to dip... I should have had that afternoon snack.

That's so true! I think most people do that. Interesting about the portion sizes too, I think that's my problem. I eat too much of even the good stuff!

Keep up the great work.

You also notice how much we rely on sugar and salt in our food. When the additives are stripped away you really notice it.
